iPhone: Officially Unlocked!

Today Vodafone Ireland announced they’re officially selling iPhones now. Meanwhile, while I’m not switching to Vodafone (work is – not me!) I gave O2 a call and kindly asked them to lift the unfair restriction on my phone locking it to their network. While I still pay O2 a bill each month (waiting for the 4G upgrade) I decided to see if I could get a legitimate unlocked iPhone.

I rang on Monday afternoon. Got my SMS from O2 this morning saying Apple would now unlock it. Brought it home, restored it to factory defaults and hey presto, it unlocked!
