Galway Glistening...

Well, 2 days in Galway and still evident is it’s uncontrollable weather conditions. Since coming here on Saturday, to my, ahem, plush penthouse accommodation, we’ve had sun-splitting heat, beating rain, windy winds and everything in between bar snow! I took a ramble (Christy Moore talk for a leisurely stroll) around the city today. Made it full circle through the University and all in under an hour. Impressive!...

Back in Business...

Well, I’m back! After what has no doubt been a few tragic days for all diarmydotnet followers, I have returned to field my opinion once again. I’ve made the move from distant Daingean Uí Chúis and am now in the City of the Tribes for this years’ fun and games at college. I got my NTL broadband installed now so no more sorry-ass excuses for not blogging! 3MB speed and it’s lovely. Not much else...

Shameless Advertising...

I’ve succumbed to the fatal loss of money that has become of us Irish people in the recent history of our credit expansions! So, I’ve launched the diarmydotnet online store to see if I can make some money to get by. A proclaimer of non-taxing in general, I’ve been reduced to putting links on my weblog (sexy ones too I might add!) in the hope that someone buys something from it. To be honest, and I’m...

Broadband Blocking Blogging...

Not entirely what you’d expect, but broadband is holding me back from blogging! Not that I’m against technology, but this idiotic “trigger programme” that eircom have in establishing broadband in a popular area. So broadband, or rather the lack of it, is holding me back from blogging and generally doing what I want with the net (like for instance, make some dinero!) Broadband is a cruel and racist...

Back Blogging…...

Well, I have returned. After what must’ve felt like an eternity (one miniscule week in reality), I’ve returned to the blogscene. The week gone by was largely uneventful in terms of what’s happening in my life at the moment or in the world as a whole. In a week where I was greeted by the prospect of yet another long search for accommodation in Galway for college, a friend pulled through and secured a...

Blue Zone Culture...

Far from the picturesque walker’s haven it once was, the tiny fishing port of Dingle has mushroomed to the tourism Mecca it is today through the stripping of its assets and its revelation to the world outside. Once a town resembling modern-day Siberia, Dingle, on the western-most coast of Europe has changed facades often throughout the age of modern transport and much of its heritage has been lost to the stereotype...

Microsoft Mischief – Their Balls Finally Dro...

If you’ve been following diarmydotnet since the beginning, or know me personally, you’ll know my patience for putting up with Windows and Microsoft in general is wearing thin. But this week, they’ve really done it. Microsoft, the king (and queen) of forcing people (ordinary ones, like you – and me) to proove to the multi-national that your copy of Windows XP is genuine. If you fail this test, you...

Weekend Report...

Well, given the raw attack on my conscience regarding last week’s report, I guess I’d better err on the side of caution tonight! This weekend was the August Bank Holiday weekend in the Republic of Ireland (so you can’t give out to me for a late blog, considering Monday’s included in the weekend!!). With this Bank Holiday came a drove of people to the tiny fishing port of Dingle. Most came for the...
